

Custom Food Lab’s first community feast since 2019 will be open to all from
2.30pm on Friday 12th August
at the Locavore Community Garden, CT19 6DT
From 2.30pm: GARDEN TOURS led by children from Custom’s ‘Taking Root’ holiday club, WORKSHOPS AND DEMOS about local food – past, present and future (including Rebel Farmer and Incredible Edibles Cheriton), a communal artwork for children and families to make together.
From 3pm: FEAST on delicious food made with produce from Folkestone’s community gardens and allotments, supplemented with surplus from the Folkestone Community Fridge. Prepared by local school children, chefs and artists – taste something new and take home some ideas!
GATHER around an extraordinary mobile sculptural installation by art-research collaboration Another Provision to share food and DISCUSS the future of local food in Folkestone.
From 4pm: BRING YOUR BERRIES – foraged blackberries, fruit from your garden, excess from the fridge – bring it all along with empty jars to make FOLKESTONE JAM accompanied by chilled music.
BOOK HERE! Tickets are free, but you can choose a solidarity ticket to contribute towards the event – any surplus will be split between the Locavore Garden and Folkestone Community Fridge
