ZIMBABWE: Community Feast
Community Meals Exhibitions and Events
120 guests joined artist and musician Lucky Moyo for the latest of our Community Feasts. Custom collaborated once again with Dr Legumes and Docker Bakery to produce a Zimbabwean menu designed with Lucky Moyo and friends. We also welcomed Lucky’s band of singers, drummers and dancers to lead us in a musical community celebration on the platform of the Harbour Station.
The Menu included:
Dovie (Peanut stew)
Muriwo Unedovi/Zimbabwe Greens
Roast squash with cinnamon
Barbecued Corn on the Cob
Nhedzhi (Wild Mushroom Soup)
Sadza (Cornmeal)
This event was PAY WHAT YOU FEEL. We asked for a deposit of £5, which could be ‘topped up’ on the day and all surplus on the ticket price, after ingredients costs were donated to a local charity. Custom Folkestone, Dr Legumes and Docker Bakery gave their time for free for these events.
