The Temple of Poo
We are really pleased to be working with Cosmic Constructions in the Locavore Community Garden. The brief was to create an accessible compost toilet for the garden volunteers, boring to some, but Bean, Iz and their team work in an expansive and creative way, so are building the most extraordinary structure. Their process is incredibly organic, working from a simple plan, responding to the site, the weather and the repurposed materials they find along the way, they use sustainable building techniques – in this case they are using the earth the dug out for the ‘soil’ pit to construct cob walls. The roof is covered in reclaim ceramic tiles and the timber frame structure has been constructed from packing cases used to store David Hockney’s “Bigger Trees” paintings!
