Shifting the power

In Spring 2021, the directors of Custom Food Lab began the process of decentralising the structure of the organisation. This is a process that will take some time to embed, but it was clear that the top-down hierarchy that had been necessary for the Custom Folkestone restaurant set-up was not right for us any more.

Partnering with the Beacon Plus

We are really pleased to be working with Beacon Plus again, offering work placements to the young people in their programme. Beacon Plus exists to increase the opportunities to access employment and develop skills for independent adulthood for a range of young adults whose statutory education was within a specialist setting.
